The center of gravity in the SOC has moved
For years everything pointed at the SIEM, and the pipeline in front of it was a transport layer: rules written once, a little filtering, hand-tuning when something broke. That held up when there was one destination and requirements changed once a year.
It does not hold up now. Agents investigate every alert at machine speed, and every investigation is bounded by what reached the detection layer feeding it. What the SOC needs from its data changes faster than anyone can hand-tune.
Intezer says it outright: AI SOC agents depend on timely, complete, well-integrated telemetry, and fragmented or incomplete data limits the agent. An alert-fed layer is bounded by what the detection layer caught, and the detection layer is bounded by what reached it. That is decided upstream.
So the team has to run a pipeline that understands the data and makes decisions about it, and know the systems their AI SOC queries are complete before an investigation finds the gap.
