Senior Platform Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to elevate our Kubernetes-based SaaS platform, which processes terabytes of data daily, to the next level.

Role Overview: We are seeking a hands-on Senior Platform Engineer to own, maintain, and continuously improve our Kubernetes-based platform. As part of this role, you’ll participate in on-call rotations, lead infrastructure enhancements, and work with the full stack to ensure system reliability and scalability. Key Responsibilities:

  • On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation with the team, addressing critical issues promptly to maintain high platform availability.
  • Platform Ownership: Take full ownership of the Kubernetes-based platform, ensuring its robustness, scalability, and security.
  • Platform Enhancement: Continuously improve and maintain the platform, addressing bottlenecks, enhancing monitoring, and implementing best practices.
  • Scripting and Automation: Build and enhance automation scripts for deployment, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform and Helm.
  • Development: Leverage Go (Golang) to develop, debug, and optimize platform tools, integrations, and microservices.
  • Full-Stack Operations: Work across the stack, including Docker configurations, CI/CD jobs, and scripting for automation.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Guide the company through SOC2 compliance, implementing controls and processes to meet certification requirements.
  • Champion a security-first mindset, implementing best practices for security and compliance across all aspects of our platform.
  • Establish and maintain operations and monitoring best practices, including creating playbooks, runbooks, and managing the on-call schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevOps or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proven expertise in managing and scaling Kubernetes based platforms
    • Expertise in working with AWS infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and reliability.
    • Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and Helm.
    • Experience with Docker and container orchestration tools
    • Experience leading SOC2 compliance exercises and implementing security controls and processes.
    • Strong security-first mindset with a deep understanding of security best practices and principles.
    • Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a passion for ensuring the reliability and security of mission-critical systems.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
